Well, that new jump pump is a beast, i have it turned down to 10(out of 20) and it is still more than plenty. Super quiet too, so far i love it!

Started getting some stn on the tips of my tricolor and noticed my alk was down to 7.3! Dosed it back up to 8.4, hope that i wasnt too late, it would make me sad to loose that beauty.

At least the everyone else is happy though. Also ive been playing with pro mode on my s20, i think some of the photos aren't terrible lol. Still want to get a filter lens though.

And then there were 3...
I have always marveled at the oddities of oceanic life. Even more so at the new addition of another nem, that a creature literally tears itself in half. I caught the tail end of this split and got a mediocre picture of a marvelous event.

That hammer has been purple since ive had it (over 2 years) and now it is starting to turn green! This was one of my first corals. Love this hammer. Got it as 2 tiny heads that were just starting to split, now there is 15 or so on this colony and 10ish on the frag I pulled you can kinda see behind it.

Sunday FTS:
This is with the Orphek lenses on my phone cam. Both the 20000k and 15000k stacked. Stock settings(no pro mode adjustments).
20210131_193806.jpg

So far they've been awesome lenses, if any of you have been looking for phome filters they are what i recommend.

They have a wide aperture and fit the s21 and iphone12s. Here it is clipped to a paper so you can see.

Set up and tank looks great. Time for an update. You did a killer job on the stand and cabinet. Following.
Thanks man!
I know, been slacking in the update department. Not much has changed though, the valadia and setosa on the frag rack have almost started to encrust onto the plastic... time to place them, but i am still trying to decide where! I also made a stupid snap purchase on a millie. Lfs in bountiful had it, wasn't looking hot but i bought it anyways. Got it home and it had started loosing tissue on one branch. I hope it makes it, the other half is starting to get some pigment back, but it has only been a week so hard to say. I will snap some pics tonight when i get home.

Here are some fresh pics as promised! The lights had already turned off for the night and the fish werent happy i turned them up enough to get decent photos. The millie in the back right is the one i am worried about, lost a lot of tissue. But, the back half of it is starting to darken a bit and thr polyps are starting to come out again so i am still hopeful!

Picked up a Hanna alk checker! Way nice tool, gotta say, so far I love it. I was worried about all swings with that sad Millie, but so far I’ve been checking every weekend and swings have only been between 8.0 and 8.3 dKH. Everything else is looking awesome despite some rather high nutrient levels, I’m at 30ppm no3 and .05ppm po4. I got some grape caulerpa, chaetomorpha, dragons breath and regular caulerpa growing in the sump now and updated my little bulb to a 150 watt grow light and stuff is starting to mellow a bit. Slow and steady.
I have been awed lately looking back at some photos of my beginner sticks to how much they have actually grown, glad I took them!

Good news! I think the millie is going to be fine. I need to clean up the middle though still, algea grew on all the dead spots. But the rest of it is coming back nicely.

The last month or so ive been really trying for stability, not messing with anything at all, just water changes every week. It has been surprising how stabile everything parameter wise has veen without me constantly fiddling with it lol.

Looking awesome, man!

Minimum input has been my method since I had to deal with LC dinos 6 months ago. Now, weekly WC and that's about it.

I added about 8 frags of across, now I have to dose nutrients again. I'm thinking about adding aminos and phyto for growth and color.

Holy cow, i got some macro's from the lfs a month ago or so, had a few amphipods on it. Didn't think much of it then, but i have about 300 of them now. Both the Gammarid style and the flatter ones and some other kind i cant remember the name of, the flatter ones that don't curl and stay smaller. I was hoping that the fish would like them as a snack, but it doesn't look like they enjoy the taste. I watched a couple get spit out! I think i need a wrasse....

I would love to have that problem. My melanarus absolutely chows down. I think the only surviving pods I have left are the ones in my chaeto in the fuge.

This magic moment was over a year in the making, clownfish finally acting like a clownfish! Man that made my wife happy lol. Her previous host was a bit of algae on the back wall...

Crap angle, you can barely see her tail, but it was the best i could get.

Also on a very sad note, she lost her partner last week. :( He was being treated for intestinal parasites (along with the whole tank) and in a weakened state was overcome by the powerhead. Found him stuck to the guard one morning. Everyone else is doing well and treatment has concluded.

there is something quite powerful watching the relationship of a clown and anemone. Loved watching them grabbing food and bringing it to its clown.
sry about the little man not making it always a gut punch losing one of our fish friends

It has been far too long since I've updated here, not a ton has changed as summer has been really busy, my beautiful wife has had me packed with honeydo's. I formed up and poured a new back patio. 19'x25'. Which has been really nice. And building a bed for my 3 year old. She wanted a princess bed...it turned out to be a bed, reading nook and bookshelf. With princess drapes.
For tank updates:

Back and side panes are kinda skummy, i havent cleaned them in 6 months. The millie i picked up was coloring up nicely untill something happened, not sure exactly what still, but i do have some speculative guesses, and it rtn'd and blew all of it's flesh off over the course of a day. Was dead when i got home. :( We did pick up a few fish. 2 new clowns, misbar mocha and standard orange ocellaris. They have been named nemo and mocha. The two new ones were starting to be good friends untill oreo, the dominant female that ive had for years, welcomed mocha into her nems. Then both mocha and oreo began relentlessly picking on nemo. Poor dude. He hangs out next to the nems and as soon as the other 2 get distracted jumps in and chills untill they notice and chase him out again lol.
20211016_130901.jpg

We also picked up a leopard wrass. Beautiful fish! It has gotten pretty fat hunting all the pods in there. Really fun to watch too, it has 2 moods so far, sleeping in the sand and hunting. Lol
20211016_183604.jpg

Poor dendro too, the foxface has decided it tastes good and has slowly bothered it near to death. There is only one head still holding on. I might kick it into the sump and see if i can get it to come back.
Anyways, that is really all thats happened other than maintenance.
Happy reefing!
