Hi guys! It's been a while. I've purchased a nice redsea max 250. I love it(wish it was bigger)! It had 4 t5 bulbs in the lighting setup....I finally got around to replacing them so I bought 6(the full amount) ati bulbs for it. I put the bulbs in and now only 2 work!! It wasn't the bulbs, so I don't know what happened. So instead of putting money into fixing it I returned the bulbs($160) and I want to go led!
I need to make a decision pretty quick since I do have lps corals in there and only 2 bulbs.
I was looking at steves leds, plug and play kit especially for the tank, but the price tag is scaring me. I don't know how to diy leds, and I want to keep the hood. Does anyone have experience with steves leds? Or any other suggestions for my tank??
Thanks!!

Thanks! But I really want to keep the hood. I'm hoping to find something to fit into the existing light compartment
Your tank looks great!

I put a couple of small Reef Brite leds under the hood of my fluval. They come in different sizes and colors. Some have different brightness levels so you can tune to your liking.

Very happy with how they worked out and the coral seem to as well.

Thank you! Main reason for removing the lid is heat building up underneath it especially in the summer. My flat is just beneath the roof so i struggle with high temperatures in the summer.
