Reef Breeders Meridians

Reefbreeders has longer bolts available? I designed a set of mounts to match the Meridian to my current Primes and Blades until I can transition to all Meridian but the screws are too short. I was going to look into barrel nuts but longer bolts would be cleaner. These are just test prints using the PETG that happened to be installed on my printer since I still need to resolve the screw height issue.

Yes they do. I think it is the same bolts that are used for their BOT brackets. Unfortunately I ordered them on the 7th and didn’t realize shipping is paused from May 7-14th, so I still haven’t been able to try the lights out yet.

I did search for something that would work local but the track on the reefbreeders light is so short in depth, nothing would fit without being modified. Even my 8020 T nuts are too thick. Ordering new bolts from reefbreeders seemed to be the easiest way to go.

I took a good look at the screws and realized nothing locally available was going to work so I was looking into barrel nuts but that isn't nearly as good a solution as just a longer screw. Thanks for the link.

I just have the light sitting on my tank cover right now and it is already getting old.

I’m excited for you!

I like the app. It works well, and the community schedule sharing is integrated perfectly. And yes, you can have tons of segments if you like that zig zag type of highs and lows to mimic clouds. It’s easy to program and use, and it’s only going to get better in the future as they add more enhancements.

Meridians have actually converted me to a white light user. When you look at pics, the clues for someone using heavy blues isn’t the coral, it’s the objects around the coral..the frag shelves, plug stems, rock, sand etc

A few of these pics are heavy blue, but a lot of them aren’t and instead are a day spectrum with whites turned up higher than the blues. The corals still have great color and fluorescence

Hey @VintageReefer do you have the schedule these images were taken under? I found your schedule yesterday using the app but it is very blue looking to my eyes.
Is this the same white settings used for the above images? TIA

EDIT: I'm trying to come up with a schedule that will be beneficial for clams and SPS

i thought the very opposite with his schedule. im looking for more of a heavier blue spectrum and this one looked more white.

I dunno, I may be running higher whites on my other tanks with different lights which makes these settings look more blue to me.

Yes that’s my schedule I have shared

To be honest I don’t recall the settings used for those pics. It is possible I manually adjusted channels for pics. Sometimes I add in more white or lower white.

Hilarious. One says not blue enough and the other says to blue! We are all different that’s for sure! and ok!

My schedule is what I find ideal and is intended to be a starting point for others. Some use it and love it! Others may want to tweak it. You can certainly load it, and then edit and increase the white set points, or reduce blues to meet your goals

Arie made this for us recently, but he did not account for the UV being only 80% accurate so technically the numbers are a little bit higher than what is listed.

This was tested with a Vabira which I’ve heard could be around one percent less accurate than the apogee.

Test Setup:

• Fixture: 11” Meridian 75W LED
• Settings: 100% on all channels with balanced lens
• Mounting Height: 13” above the top of the tank
• Tank Size: 9-gallon (14” L × 13” W × 13” H)
• Water Line (W/L): Just under the surface
• PAR Meter Depths:
  • Top: 13” from light (just above water)
  • Water Line: 14” from light
  • Middle: 19” from light
  • Bottom: 26” from light

yeah idk. mine were bright as heck on both tanks. i submitted a ticket to @Reef Breeders regarding how bright they are.

Yeah I agree they’re a little bright.. I haven’t played with them yet but I’m sure you can make a schedule with a different color such as royal blue to run at 1% over night and maybe that will be better idk.. it’s just the number of overall LEDs that are lit on that blue channel that makes it so bright. I’m still running my Neptune moon lights as I haven’t had time to play with the meridians setting yet! I tried them once and saw how bright it was so I left my Neptune lights on.
