Just recently purchased this skimmer for my 180 gallon tank i have been repairing from a member on the forum and i couldnt be happier! Unfortunately, i finally removed one of the glass panels from the tank and discovered a crack that was unseen until that moment. So, i am going to have to scrap the plans fir this 180 and have decided to go with a slightly smaller 150 ish tank either from glass cages if i can scrape enough together or a 150 from sca if i dont book any more clients for the month.
I had read that this skimmer was rated for 180 with a heavy bio load which was certainly the plan fish wise. Obviously with running a 180 i will have less fish in it but still a heavy bioload eventually.
My question is this; is this skimmer just too large for a 150 or will it be ok? Possibly put it on a timer and only have it skim half of the day?
Thanks!

Should be fine, always ok to go bigger, not smaller. I ran one rated for 125 on my 40 and 75, no problem.
