reef-pi :: An opensource reef tank controller based on Raspberry Pi.

stop reef-pi, and delete the database (rm /var/lib/reef-pi/reef-pi.db), start reef-pi

stop reef-pi, and delete the database (rm /var/lib/reef-pi/reef-pi.db), start reef-pi
This will just move (backup) the db, you can try this as well,
Code:
sudo systemctl stop reef-pi.service
sudo mv /var/lib/reef-pi/reef-pi.db /home/pi
sudo systemctl start reef-pi.service

Eish! Ranjib. I'm really stupid with this stuff!

I can't even find how to stop Reef-Pi.

Help please. I have a meeting to get to, but need to get my return pump running before I go.

Right!

Done as suggested above, now get the following error alert when I try run.

Log attached as well

Yesterday I received the hot air solder tool and yes it works :)

Have the impression though that my solder paste is not the best, thick and doesn't stick very well to the PCB. This improved after I put Flux on the PCB and then the solder paste.

The first trial failed as I forgot to solder the edges as I explained before and the temperature of the hot air station was too low. The chip moved and fixated wrongly. Thereafter I couldn't move it anymore (Have to see if I can remove it completely and use it again).
Next try I fixated the edges with a normal solder iron and verified the position with a digital camera. This took most of the time to get it really aligned although I shifted it downside but all connectors of the chip where on the PCB wires, see below. You can also clearly see the right connector soldered normally. I had to clean the PCBA with alcohol after the hot solder paste melted, you can see the remaining brown stuff under the housing and between the pins. I didn't put too much solder paste on the pins being afraid of short-cuts, could have used a little more however, that's learning by doing.
Verified all connections between chip and PCB and possible short-cuts, all ok ;)

i am not sure why this is happening. What happens if you refresh your browser ?

Just out of interest, I get exactly the same problem when I try run it directly off the Pi using VNC.
can you run this and report back the result:

Code:
curl -u <user>:<password> http://192.168.10.97/api/info

Here you go. I wasn't sure if it was the Reef-Pi login, or the Pi login, so I tried both.

Yeah.,.. your authentication credentials (aka username and password is not right). By default its reef-pi/reef-pi

I just tested this (wrong signin credentials), and I also get the same blank UI with the error message, but if I refresh, it takes me back to signin in page, and i can log back in, after entering the correct username/password

Another tiny thing on UI "layout"....... It would be nice if the labels on the "Equipment" graph could be formatted in such a way that they could all be shown. Possibly rotate them 90 degrees? To avoid having some of the labels omitted.

I am still getting the pink bar notification though. But everything seems to be working.

he pink bar with error, in this case is not harmful. Its saying there is no temperature usage data (heater/cooler), which is used by the charts. This can happen if you have just started the temperature controller (so it takes a minute to get the fist set of usage data) or you have disabled control in the specific temperature controller, so its running in monitoring mode only (hence no data) or the dashboard is configured with a old/stale temperature controller thats now deleted (and the dashboard is not updated yet)

I'll keep in mind that, this is a minor improvement though, since you can see the equipment if you mouse over it.
On a related use case, we are thinking about having a macro specific chart. Infact instead of chart we should call it widget, since it will be a collection of buttons, and you can directly start/stop them, instead of just observing their current state (which the chart does right now)
