Does anyone have an example of using a macro timer...? It runs fine manually everytime but hasn't run since...

Is this macro reversible ? If not can you edit and make it reversible ?

I have an AWC macro that I am unable to run with a timer and I am not entirely sure why. Is there any known issues with macros and timers? It runs perfectly fine manually running it through the macro tab but fails to work through a timer... Any thoughts?
That macro is reversible ?

@Ranjib @Michael Lane I have a suggestion. For the equipment dashboard. Instead of having vertical lines it would be easier to read with horizontal lines. It would also allow for longer names without them getting cut off. As it is it’s kind of useless because I can’t view half my equipment. I usually go to the equipment tab to see what’s on or what’s off.

Agree. I’m thinking of widget , that will allow users to click and on/off equipment straight from dashboard. But I want to do this comprehensively as part of larger ui/ux overhaul . I’ll keep you posted .

Have you given any thought to remote sensors/outputs? I’m thinking of ways to allow control of AWC pumps /sensors at the mixing station away, which is physically separate from the reef-pi controller.

perhaps the jebao Wifi model for AWC in-out pumps? (But that wouldn’t allow for mixing station level sensors etc)

Hey. I've explained this issue in detail in one of my previous posts.

I had exactly the same issue and discovered a work-around. It has to do with Macro needing to be reversible and then having to write the macro in reverse to get it to work.

I'll find the post and copy it here.

Yeh I guess that's basically what I was after.

So for instance when I turn off my return pump with my neptune apex I have it programmed so the skimmer turns off also so it doesn't overflow.

Then when I start up the return pumps again my skimmer waits 5 mins and then starts.

I guess this can be achieved with macros?

For sure. Then you just use teh Macros instead of Equipment control and it will do exactly that.

I have actually come to the decision that the Equipment Block in the Dashboard is not for me. I've turned it off. I rather use the Equipment Tab. I can see the whole equipment name and I can turn stuff on and off from there as well. Does more for me from one place that way.

I was trying to check the alert after on the ATO page.
So I set the check frequency to 600 seconds and set alert enabled and disable on alert and set alert after 60 seconds and after the pump kicked on it kept running till i shut it off 1 minute after the alert shutdown should have happened.
So it must not be monitoring the seconds of run time when the pump kicks on only the time it kicked on and off then extrapolates the run time from those 2 times as far as i can tell.
So make sure your check interval is less than your alert after cause the pump will just keep on running and no notification either after 60 seconds.

I've only just got around to updating to 3.3.1 and really, really, really, really, really, really, like that I can now copy the commands directlyfrom the update page and paste into Putty.

Really simple thing, but makes the process really easy.

Thanks guys!!!

Agree! After killing my only pi the other day I was reluctant but was still on a 3.0 pre release. I went ahead and made the jump to 3.3.1 and was great to just copy and paste. Thanks guys.

@Schreiber ’s tindie shop is open now .. I just found out :) . Super nice

Yeah! Just finished populating it yesterday evening. Didn't realize the admin approval for listings actually went through so fast, or I would've waited a few more days, lol.

Now that I've got all the first wave of the Kickstarter boards made, I figured I'd list 2 boards on Tindie to see how the process worked. Once I've got all the second wave of Kickstarter boards made, I'll start actually increasing the Tindie stock :)

This is on my to do list. Get one of you boards and build another, nicer looking reefpi.

Ok I messed around with the ATO settings some more and no matter how i set any of the times it will not send a notification and it will not shut off and disable it either.

if the remote sensor has a wifi based api we can easily integrate. Its also possible that we can have reef-pi hal driver that will allow using one reef-pi's sensor data to be consumed by another reef-pi.

Just noticed an interest anomaly. Twice over the last couple of weeks, I have had my ATO reservoir run dry and the pump run constantly for a couple of hours. The first time I didn't have alerts enabled, so I enabled them if the ATO ran for more than 600 seconds. The second time it happened and I didn't recieve a single alert despite the ATO running for a few hours at night. I was a bit busy and didn't follow up and check anything besides that the Alerts tickbox was enabled and the time (600 seconds) was correct.

ThEN....... two nights ago, I suddenly started getting "ATO Usage high" alerts. I went and checked and the ATO wasn't running. I kept getting alerts all night at the 10 per hour limit that I had set. Every hour on the hour. I disabled the alert function in my ATO and continued to get them despite it being disabled and despite the ATO not running. This continued for about 12 hours then stopped.

The only thing that I can think of is that I didn't reload reef-pi after I added the alert??? Not sure, but thought I'd mention the occurrence.
