Reefbreeders Photon V2 24" over 40B

I have a Photon V2 24" mounted ~10" over my 40 breeder. I am struggling to figure out how high % I should run my lights to allow for SPS towards the top 1/3rd and LPS/softies at the bottom. I don't have access to a PAR meter, so I am looking for advice if my schedule below is probably in the ballpark of where I want to be.

Well it’s discontinued so keep your eye out for a used one in good shape

I bought a photon 24 for a 40b and in a few days was contacting RB asking if I could return for the 32 due to lack of coverage on the ends of the tank. I was very very happy with the combo of photon 32 / 40 breeder

The new Meridian 24 has improved optics, and everything else, and will cover 24x36 and is perfect for a 40b

I just set up a 40g breeder with a photon 24. I'm sure it will grow SPS they will just have to be placed correctly under the light. A 32 would be perfect but I had the 24 already. The tank I'm lightning is in the basement and no one sees is so I have the light off set to the left side to light the area where I placed sand for my haddoni. There isn't much light on the other end but I'm just growing out some shrooms. This tank is just a throw together because I had to break down a tank that was failing. A 24 should work for a mixed reef on a 40 but only low light coral could be placed on the ends IMO I'm only running 20% begining and end with a 25% peak.

Photon is a very capable light. I run two 24s over my 36x22x22" acro dominant tank. One may have been enough but I knew this was going to be an SPS tank and I'm a too much is just enough guy since they can be dialed down. These run 40% begining and end with a 60% peak. No red or green and very little white

Thank you for the response. I think spending the extra money on the new meridian would be a better option then. Unless I can find a vendor selling the 32 but it looks like only the 24s are left. Great pop of color from the photon though, and holy heck that acro tank is beautiful

Photons are great lights. I'll be running 2x 48" V2s over my 48x39x25 (203g) when it launches. Already have one of them purchased!

Dang nice dimensions on that tank. I can’t find any 32s available. I might order the meridian 24

I pulled the trigger on a photon 24 v2 pro on sale while they are still available, very impressed initially. Hard to beat the price point of 500 bucks
