Hi all. Just got a waterbox 130.4 (48 Long, 24deep, 24tall). 100 gallon display, 30 gallon sump.

I got the reefbreeders photon V2+ 48 inch as 1. ive heard nothing but good things and 2. It’s within my budget at $700.

I plan to have an SPS dominant tank, with some softies at the bottom. I want a minimalist aquascape and plan on using fiberglass rods to hold together rock structures.

will this light ONLY be capable of handling Acro? Or should I start looking at ways to supplement with T5s?

Are there any affordable options for adding t5 strips to my setup?

I’ve got a 36”x24” at 20” deep. I found that it didn’t really light the front or back as well as I liked, so I did additional t5s as well.
I used the aquatic life hybrid fixture.

You may not need additional lighting for your setup, especially depending on how it’s aqua scaped. But you you can also cross that bridge when you come to it, if you start seeing shadows in your sticks.

Best of luck!

Mine lights front to back in my 120g. I don't notice any shadowing. Now once I fill with corals I might need supplement. I'm running it at 60% blues during peak hours.
