Hoping someone could provide par readings 1 xho blue strip. Have a 12” tank. Curious how much par that is going to add. It’s maybe 4” off the water

is the PAR really that high, i am surprised
Yup. Made to compliment a metal halide. So it’s got to be bright.

I have an open invite to put my par and lux meter on some here. I tested dry a year or more a go.

I’d def get a dimmer and controller.

Yeah, I’d love to see par readings w water. That just seems so high!!! Now I’m worried I’m blasting that much par on my shallow tank

Water only cuts it a little.

400 par at the top of a shallow sps tank would be fine. Not so good for Torches. And it’s def not as powerful as a B.B.

That’s about 350+ I’d bet. You can’t all the them and ask too.

Gave them a call. He said even the most modern par meters wouldn’t tell the full story because of how it’s reflected and the spectrum blend. At the same time said it will put out par but shouldn’t worry because no point optics. If I was worried could buy the dimmer. So I like the light. It looks great and obviously gets good reviews. Guess I’m just a little disappointed they don’t post spectrum graphs or par reading - even estimates. For how $ they are I think it’s a reasonable request. That being said if anyone out there could find par at different lengths?? That b great!!

Just checked my xho’s using an mq-500 sitting 12 inches above the tank.

At water line: 120
6” under: 72
12” under: 50

Good stuff!! Thank you!
@ 3” above tank, vs your 12”, I’d say my par should be roughly around 150 @ bottom of my 12” tank. Seems right no?
