I’m so confused. I thought it was read 102 @ 12”? How did the par jump to 600 measured in the water at 12” + 4” to the the light? Am I really blasting 600 par to the bottom of my 20 gallon long reef?
There's a couple different measurements going on here: The 102 from post #27 is a lux reading for the xho's 12" under the led, that measurement was for Salty and is independent of the par reading taken for you with the Halides only at 4" above the tank in post #32.

I metered a single.
X2 would be 80,000 to 90,000.

The higher reading that I got would explain the difference, I placed the meter under one xho, but i'm sure the meter picked up some light from the second xho only several inches away. I should of blocked the second xho to get a true reading of one light... I'll try that when I have time.

I was actually in search of par readings of the xho, not the halides.

My b. I misunderstood. I thought you were lowering and measuring xho. I’m going to use your #’s @ 12” high and say mine at 3-4” high should b around 150ish par towards bottom.
Thx for helping out. Appreciate it!!

That makes sense. I’ll take a measure tomorrow of 4” from the xho’s in their current position, from there it should be a fairly easy and accurate conversion.

Must be owned by Kessil. Sorry couldn't resist..
Oh SNAP

But yea apperanly it’s the same you can’t measure par thing to judge it.
You have to hang it over the edge of the Earth to test them I belive.
