Hello R2R, another fish selection post here.

My current Reefer 250 is 55g display/10g sump, and is about 2 years old.

I have had only 3 fish in here for the longest time and am now looking to add more fish that will bring more visual appeal, fun to watch etc.

Current fish (see pics)
1x Maroon clown - pretty chill, rarely aggressive
1x bicolor blenny
1x royal gramma

CuC:
6-7 blue leg hermits
1 stone crab I need to remove
2-3 nassarius snails
3-4 astrea snails
1 pistol shrimp
1 conch

I'm looking for advice here on 1-2 'showpiece' fish such as leopard wrasse or mandorin goby(understanding the due diligence requirements for those)
chromi 'school'?
any puffer (I once had one that did not nip corals - cutest little guy)
any cool tang/angels considering my smaller tank?

and then any other 'filler' fish such as cardinal, yellow goby, etc.

I am just running a nyos skimmer, no GFO/carbon, no fuge, etc.
Phosphates stay around .04 and Nitrates around 5ppm.

I would appreciate any advice, suggestions, fish to avoid considering my current fish. Thank you.

1. Try a pair of springeri damselfish. They are more peaceful than other damsels, and eat pests.
2. Consider flasher wrasses. They will display the best color when males of different species are kept together.
3. Small fairy wrasses also work.
4. Various gobies are a great way to add more fish without increasing the bioload very much.
5. A dwarf angelfish will work, but will probably go for any LPS and clams.
6. A small tang might work for a while, but have high flow, compatible tank mates, and avoid Acanthurus species.

I hope that this helps!

I wouldn't add any type of wrasse without a secure lid on top of your tank. As someone wise once said, any fish shaped like a torpedo will eventually go carpet surfing if you don't have a tightly-fitted top.

I love dwarf angels, but have a plan "B" in case one develops a confilct with your maroon clown. Mere mortals will never secure a centropyge interruptus to put into your tank, but there are lots of other options, although many will nip at tempting polyps. I personally think that the multicolor angel is one of the better angels for aquariums and one of the most under-appreciated, too.

These ones are peaceful. They also eat flatworms, so that's a plus.
Any suggestions on introducing them? Just put them in at night?

Also, does anyone have any input regarding two damsels or 2-5 chromis?

I am thinking goby too but my stone crab killed my pistol I think... Got to get him out of there..
