I got a Red Sea Reefer 450 G1 for a steal (bought a ai nero 5 and a tank came with it lol). Dude I got it from had it running with no problems. Now I'm well aware of the G1 reefer problems. I'm definitely hesitant to just throw this bad boy in my home and fill it up. Ive got a brand new pro clear sump ready for it as well. The tank came with 2 kessil a360s, nero 5, varios 6 return pump. I got the lights, pump, powerhead, tank and stand for 300$ which i figured was a steal. I'd like to reseal the tank so I don't have to post on here in 3 weeks about my tank leaking. I've never resealed a tank so I'm inquiring about that. I own and operate an auto glass business so I'm pretty well versed in gluing glass to things. I know tanks use silicone and cars use urethane and so forth. Has anyone ever done anything like this? I have suction cups, razor scrapers, wire/fiber line, literally everything needed for this job other than silicone. I can run a laser beam urethane bead and do meticulous prep work. I have the tank sitting in my garage which is plenty big enough to spread everything out and have space. Will it provide any benefit? I want it to be safe as possible and last for as long as possible. Wife 100% won't let me drop 3k on a new tank so here I am. What would you guys suggest? ( other than getting another tank) will tearing it down and re siliconing it benefit? I'm sure it's easier said than done.

Welp, you came to the right place!

I happen to be in the process of heavily reinforcing one of these exact tanks, without actually proceeding to fully rebuild with its ~70lb front and rear viewing panes!
