Because Gen 1 was only okay and they changed very little. I don’t expect G2 is any better and definitely not worth it. Way better lights out there for the money

I installed two 170’s a few days back. Not done any readings but colour wise I really like them so far. Time will tell the rest

Which would you recommend? Sadly I have 4 reefled90s :(

Stick with what you have, especially if you like them and are happy. You can always switch lights when those start to fail and save the money for other things.

If you really want to switch, then budget and how you mount them will determine which lights to look into

I think one thing that can really help the Red Sea lights is adding something like an AI Blade or two. That gives awesome fill light to complement their point source

I but the bullet and got the 115 and the color different is amazing! I’ve had the 90 for 3 years and it was ok, but the 115 is much brighter, looking forward to a par test next week.

I don't own these lights, but my local fish store has two on one of their display tanks and that tank looks awesome. Nice blended lighting great coral growth and coral and they're just running an algae scrubber on it.
