Is there anybody raised the reefmat 1200 higher then what it can go. I used the legs they provided which went up another quarter more then the hang on bracket. Any ideas would be great.

Basically like he said, to make the roll last longer. I am thinking will be at least a months first roll. But I know I can raise higher and make it last way longer.

I think you'll probably find you get at least 2 months out of it. Maybe not the first roll, but there's a better even chance after that. Most are reporting 1-2ft/daily usage.

17.7” daily average. 25 today because I did a water change and stirred things up + also allowed my return to to pump air during water change to “bubble skim” DT.

You have a reefmat? You used 17.7 inches you mean right? Check the attachments I posted. I am confused with daily average vs the graph. Says 49.4 daily average, but graph shows almost 120 inches?

Interesting. I never really paid attention until this thread and just quickly posted my daily average in response. But I am in a similar situation now that I look at it—graph is way higher. I ran a ClariSea previously, so I am not used to having this additional information. I kind of don’t care, except that it should allow me to guesstimate how many days before I need to make sure to have a replacement fleece in hand. I did change the advancement length to the minimum amount and it definitely helped based just on dirtier roll.

By Calculating I used about 22ft in 5.5 days. so that's about 49+-. So not sure why the graph shows almost 120 inches. Doesn't make sense. Also by putting legs on mine last night the reefmat sits maybe a quarter inch higher then hanging on. I saw a little improvement in the usage. Around 44" last night.

Anybody else suggestion on how to raise the unit by using existing legs? Wish we can get replacement legs that adjust.

I had my ClariSea raised very high just by using a built egg crate stand. At some point, it will create some noise/air bubbles from the flow. Not a big deal, but FYI, as I preferred it to be silent.

What I’d really like to see is a different attachment to the unit itself so that the bend in the flex hose doesn’t waste a few inches of space, which in a 15G sump kind of matters.

Also, a champagne problem.”

Has nothing to do with the sensor. Higher up=taller/greater water head pressure to force water through the fleece and slower rising water and, in turn, more time before the sensor is triggered. Lower=less head pressure/less “force” through the fleece and, in turn, water rises and triggers sensor faster. Another way to look at this is the higher up it is, the “dirtier” the roll will need to be to advance.

If a DC return pump, another option is to slow down the flow, which also will make the rolls last longer.

I only know this from the ClariSea .

reefmat 500 - i glued a 90 degree fitting to input and the hose just runs stright - works great
