Refurbished RO/DI?

Hey so I have really been looking into RODI units lately and have come across the following....

Now I know I don't get full warranty or some of the other cool features with brand new models....but this is definitely within my budget and with on a total of 55-60g this would be more then sufficient....my questions are

1. Anybody have one of these refurbished units? Experience?

2. My tap water comes out at about 80-90tds...is the 5 stage worth it?

Anyone with personal experience with these refurbished units I would love to hear your experience and opinions on them!

So it's a 4 stage vs. 5 stage and a roughly 60 dollar difference. I would go with the 4 stage and then you could add a second di if needed later.
TDS of 80-90 from tap is good. Mine is 600+.

There are very few actual things that can go wrong with RO/DI units, so a "refurbished" unit is probably more reconditioned than refurbished. Regardless, I don't think the warranty is really that big of a deal for an RO/DI unit. They are built from modular components, and maybe the worst-case scenario is a cracked housing which could be replaced relatively inexpensively.

For the most part, spectrapure's refurbished units are indistinguishable from brand new ones. Not sure about a warranty but they will help you out with any issues. get the 5 stage.
