Regal Angel fish?

Hi I have a 120 gallon 5 foot long mixed reef and am looking for a good centerpiece fish. I have my mind set on a blue throat trigger and a powder blue tang along with a few other small fish and I was wondering if I could add a regal angel. Would this be too much or could I get one. Also has anybody had a Regal, if so do you have any tips.

If buying a regal make sure you see it eating before buying

ok thx for the advice. are they likely to eat or nip at corals?

Just depend on the fish. My regal eats zoa's, clam mantles, and nips at softies. Find a solid solid specimen is important as mentioned make sure its eating well.

Put the Regal Angel in your tank first, get him comfortable with the tank before adding the other fish, namely the trigger and the tang.

Keep in mind they do get big.

I was going to purchase one a while back then saw a few of them in members tanks and had second thoughts. Pretty fish though but not sure I want another large fish in my 210 gallon tank. Had I bought only 1 tang maybe but just do not think mine is large enough.

Not directed at your tank size - just wanted to say that they do get sizable.

Very slowly. I got two small ones, just about 1.5 inches. After 2 years they just now catch up with my Flame angels at about 2.25 inches. I feed a lot and my fish grow very fast. Over the same periord, my PBT grew from about 2 inches to 5.5 inches.

Good point and nice way to put it into perspective.

I had a Lt. Tang that went from about 2 inches to 8 in a matter of months and since scared the poo out of me. Granted all fish do not behave the same but it was enough to put me in check.
