Currently using redsea coral pro salt. Wanting to transition to a similar salt that doesn’t have a bunch of residue and can be stored better in my brute trash can in my garage for a few weeks. Any recommendations on salts?

Red Sea recommends using it within 4 hours of mixing. Any longer and you risk precipitation.

I got a bucket of NYOS salt recently from a friend. I just finished it off, I liked it enough to order another bucket. Mixes fast and clear, stable parameters, and CLEAN. Highly recommend. The only other salt I've like this much has been Aquaforest salt, but it tends to mix at lower ranges. I used to use Tropic Marin, both NYOS and Aquaforest match in terms of mixing and cleanliness but after a batch from Turkey killed off a bunch of my corals, I won't be using them again.

Another note, I really like how each bucket from NYOS comes with an ATI test result stuck right to the lid of the salt bucket. Something I wish all salt companies would do.

Be careful when you do transition away, my 2 reef tanks didn't like the switch, I guess maybe I did it too fast IDK, but after about 3 months I had to switch back to coral pro, it still took a couple of months for everything to bounce back

My two cents on Nyos. On their website and their YouTube channel they claim you can store months. If you ask their support line which takes you to bulk reef supply support they say it's unstorable. I had a 5 gallon bucket of mixed water with a lid on it no aeration read almost identical from when I first stored it after 3 months. The alkalinity dropped a hair. Could have been test error. Used it for phytoplankton no issues at all.
