CURRENTLY HAVE 5 STAGE 75GPD AIR WATER ICE TYPOON RODI SYSTEM THAT I BOUGHT USED.

TDS BEFORE SYSTEM IS 150TDS, AND AFTER 2-3TDS

READING THROUGH OLD THREADS I HAVE NOTICED ALOT OF MEMBER RECOMMENDING MAXCAP FILTERS. THE SYSTEM WAS USED ON A 300 GALLON FOR APPROX 1 YEAR. I AM NOTICING THAT IF I DONT ORDER FROM ONE OF THE COMPANYS WITH FREE SHIPPING IM LOOKING AT $20+ IN JUST SHIPPING. IS IT WORTH (OR EVEN POSSIBLE) TO UPGRADE THE SYSTEM WITH THIS KIT http://spectrapure.com/FILTERS-MEMB...artridge-Upgrade-Kit-for-MaxCap®-RODI-Systems.

WHAT WOULD YOU RECOMMEND TO SAVE THE MOST MONEY LONG TERM?

I use the stuff from brs, I have over 500g in aquarium and use the water for cooking and tea and stuff. I changed my ro membrane at about 3 years. I usually change the di resin an additional time for each filter kit. My tds before is over 400 and always 0 after. Brs has everything you need and shipping is free.

How often do you normally change your sediment and carbon?

Sediment gets changed every six months or when the water pressure drops 10%, whichever comes first. carbon gets changed every six months or even you have detectable chlorine, whichever comes first.

As you can see my tds is quite high, over 400; but always brought down to 0. The di resin is color changing, and when it gets pale, I just change that. Then when the next one gets pale and I see any tds at all; I mean .01. I then change all 3, I don't really keep track of gallons. I've been using the brs stuff for several years, it seems to be very high quality. Probably at about 2.5-3 years I noticed the filters not lasting as long, so I then changed the membrane and all was ok.
