Hello

So I recently got my Waterbox aio 15 peninsula, everything came in perfect and intact. However, I couldn’t help but notice the return pump was smaller than what was pictured. I thought nothing of it because I was gonna but the sicce syncra silent 0.5 pump anyways.

But I started to notice that it wasn’t only the pump, but the hosing was also too narrow. I checked with someone who also got a WB 15 pen and he told me my pump was better suited as an ATO pump. As I keep taking a closer look I can’t help but think even the return nozzle and elbow were too small.

So not only do I need to buy a new pump, new hosing, and new return plumbing, do I need to drill a larger hole to fit all this new stuff??? I’m really confused! It’s my first ever saltwater tank and I already feel like it’s falling apart! 🙁

For measurements, all I know is that on the website, the hose is supposedly Φ9

Please help.
Thank you

Do you have the sicce .5? See what fittings it comes with. It might fit that hose
Hello thanks for helping! :)

And no I do not have the sicce .5 because I feared it would be too big. I sent a message to the WB support and they told me I couldn’t use any other pump because it wouldn’t fit :(

That looks very small - especially considering what we usually see in this particular model of tank.

let me see fi i can get a quick photo of the parts that usually came/came with the WB Peninsula 15 tank
Thank you. I really don’t want to drill a larger hole through this thing. I just don’t have the equipment or handy knowledge… 😓

OK - here is the stock nozzle and elbow we have typical seen on the Waterbox Cube and Peninsula mini series, this incudes the 10, 15, and 20

do you happen to have a set of calipers to take some measurements to see how they differ, in terms of size?

No I do not have a set of calipers. could I try and measure the diameter of each piece with my measuring tape?

WB support told me the particular model that I got is the freshwater one, thus the shrunken plumbing. But they said it can still be used for saltwater, which I doubt. I bought mine off SaltwaterAquarium.com thinking it would be the saltwater version…guess not.

That hose is small but it might fit inside 1/2” hose. Where did you purchase the tank?

It says return hose 16
Maybe you should reach out to saltwater aquarium
Is it the correct dimensions?
The dimensions are correct, both the fresh and saltwater versions of the WB 15 are the same dimensions. But everything from the amount of slits on the skimmer intake to the plumbing is wrong. Arghh I’m so angry! I can’t believe I got sent the wrong tank. Too think I had this tank for a week! I had a background installed and everything 😭 😭 😭

Wait because how do I figure out how large the hose is? On WB it says Φ9…idk what that symbol means…

This was all I could get in terms of hose measurements.
Can you retake this picture, but set the outside of the return tube standing face first on top of the tape with one edge on an inch line so we can read the opposite edge and estimate outside diameter of this pipe fitting.

Or another way, put the circle flat on top of the tape measure and align it so we can measure the width (diameter) of the pipes outer circle.

(I feel like I am writing Chinese instructions for Ikea 🙃 ) I hope this made enough sense.

Sorry about the tiny tank & pump.
