Friends,

I am trying to find a good return pump for my Redsea 625. I have a Syncra Silent 5.0 but was thinking about just using that for the chiller and use a DC pump. I was looking through the DC pumps and came across eflux. Anyone got any opinions on those? Or should I go with a Vectra S2 but its use ratings are always on the lower side.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You think I would need around 3k gph for 625? I mean at 6ft it would be around 1700gph which is 10x total volume of the system.

With the restrictions of the RS plumbing you won't see close to the stated figures. Varios S-8 maxed out around 550GPH on my RSR725v1. DC pumps struggle greatly with restrictions and head pressure unfortunately.

That is an insane drop. Is the drop because of how it forks as it goes up or the pipe size? I presume the 725 has similar pipe layout but yeah 550 is less than 3.5 times the total volume of the tank.

Yep, the stock plumbing and bulkheads are very restrictive. 550GPH is plenty turn over for a 625 imo. I had to go to Abyzz A200 to get 725GPH even after increasing the majority of my return to regular 1” PVC.

I use the Sicce Syncra 6.0 in my RSR625 and although I don't know the flow rate, it seems to be plenty. Tank is over a year now. I do run it at 100% though, but it seems to be working great for my tank.
