Hi I had this guy for like 3 months eating like a pig , 1 week ago I added 2 smaller fuller qt wrasses that went through full qt , no fast breathing on my of the fish as well as no spots

Woke up today to roseband laying down on the side skin is perfectly clean not a single sign of ich or anything this fish used to eat like a pig

It’s hiding I cannot find it , respirations seem medium to normal

I have no idea why this is happening I believe it’s a super male

Water perimeters came back okay also

The eyes seem a bit hazy to me, do they look like that in person? If so, it could be Neobenedenia flukes.

Should I prazi this tank?

If the eyes are hazy, I would. Dose prazipro two times, 8 days apart with good aeration. Turn off any UV. run the skimmer, just don't collect any skimmate. The solvent in Prazipro acts like carbon dosing, so discontinue any of that you might be doing.

The dose is 1 ounce of Prazipro per 120 gallons of actual tank capacity. Your 300 gallon tank might hold 270 actual gallons, but then, if you have a sump, you need to add that volume back in. I think you'll need like a bottle and a half to do two treatments.

I also see the yurple scratch a little earlier but never again

The wrasse is breathing a bit fast - did you add extra aeration to the tank?

Fish is breathing hard. I always hear that prazi can be “rough on wrasses”, but I don’t see that myself as I always use lots of aeration.

How long have you had this wrasse?
I presume it’s not eating?

One scenario that is pretty common - fish can hide fluke infections pretty well. They can sometimes harbor a lot more flukes than you might think. The prazi knocks all the flukes off at once. The flukes were acting as little corks, and when they are off the fish, there is a lot of blood loss. That causes rapid breathing due to anemia. No way around this issue though. I experimented with dosing partial doses to just knock of a percentage of flukes at a time, with recovery in between, but I never really got that to work out.

Here’s the fish eating , just swimming sluggish

I had him for a month

As for aeration , I removed skimmer cup so a lot of micro bubbles in the tank,
I turned the mp60 both up to 70 percent
