Age of tank
Filtration
Water parameters ie:
Amonia tank looks new
Nitrite tank looks new
Method of testing
Method of cycling

Just a few off the top of my head as related to a new tank.

This is often seen amongst tangs and surgeonfish and although classified viral is not Brook, nor parasitical but rather a combination of bacterial and vitamin deficiency. Unfortunately Treatment will have to be done in a seperate quarantine tank and recommended is Seachem Kanaplex OR Seachem Neoplex.
If you cant find either one, Maracyn 2 is acceptable.
Assure water quaity is good and for diet feed:
LRS Herbivore diet
Hikari Veggie diet
Hikari Marine cuisine
Spirulina Brine shrimp
Formula 2 flake and frozen
Small Plankton

Add selcon vitamins to the foods 2-3X per week and on alternating days, garlic extract for stamina and immunity health

You need better advisors.

Minimum tank size for a blue tang is 75 gal, and even that is too small to keep a tang more than a year as he will outgrow it.

You should be doing a 10-20% water change every week.

Saltwater is very different to freshwater. There is a lot more work and cost involved.

75 gallon is acceptable and typical size in captivity is 4-5 inches. Important is to maintain water quality.
