I have just finished 30 days of copper power and did a 4 gallon water change in my 10 gallon tank and put cuprisorb in the hob. 18 hours later the Hanna Checker reads 0.66.

Wondering if I can dose GC and keep the cuprisorb? My wrasse has flukes and I’m
Anxious to start treatment.

Let me know what you think the best course of action is @Humblefish @4FordFamily or @HotRocks

Cuprisorb is deionization resin. Yep, same stuff you use in your RODI system. It would absorb some of the active ingredients that makes GC work to help your fish. So @4FordFamily 's advice is exactly the right thing to do.

So an update - the possum wrasse stopped eating again on Monday, aday after i dosed the GC (I dosed Sunday morning). I did a 2 gallon water change and put carbon and cuprisorb back on the HOB last night, still no real interest in the live black worms this morning (wrasse used to be pecking at the pippette to try to get at them). I’ll do the last round of GC this Friday and hope the wrasse eats afterwards. I hope it’s not internal parasites. The wrasse did have them and was eating medicated frozen food for a few days last month, but since then hasn’t eaten anything besides live blackworms. If anyone has an idea of what I can do to help her eat, would love to know. Feeling a little down about the qt process not going more smoothly....

Tried feeding tonight and so far no dice. Fed a mix of fish eggs, brine shrimp, black worms. I may try to get pods tomorrow. The wrasse seems sort of interested in the food, but won’t eat. Her head/gills kind of spasmed or twitched a few times before or just as I fed from the pippette. Could it just be recovering from flukes detaching from the GC I dosed on Sunday? @Big G @4FordFamily @HotRocks

Do you have any food made up without meds? You might try it just to see. I usually work fish into the GC soaked food. Start with metro if that goes well for a few days switch to GC. If GC tastes anything like it smells it's probably horrible. Do you add garlic as well? That seems to help some.

Some fish just will NOT eat GC soaked food. In that case if I can get them to eat food saoked with metro, and there isn't any signs of white stringy poop, I can live with it.

I'm not sure what the twitching was. Could be feeding response, or still a bit of irritation from fluke damage.

OMG

I BOILED A PEA AND SHES NIBBLING AT IT!?! I really didn’t expect this to work! What does this mean? She didn’t eat much pea but is definitely nibbled a few times. I also notice her picking gab the biofilm on the tubes in the tank.

She only at GC soaked food for 2-3 days right after I got her home in mid December. After that (around the time I ranked up copper) she only ate live black worms. I will see if I can get metro. Garlic and selcon don’t seem to help :(

Little update - Tried tigger pods from Reef nutrition and she ate them this morning (wouldn’t eat last night and still won’t eat black worms). I hope after the second dose of GC in the water today she’ll eventually start eating frozen food that I can mix with GC or just metro (got metro as per @HotRocks recommendation). It’s so odd to me that this possum wrasse was eating frozen brine at the pet store and the first few days in my tank and has steadily seemed to be less interested in food. My guess is a combo of flukes and internal parasites. I know she chews the worms (spits them out and re-swallows them) to eat them. Maybe that process is too painful after the flukes came off from dose 1 of GC? The pods are so tiny she can eat them in one bite, but she won’t eat fish eggs which are also tiny so some of her not eating is about lack of interest

@HotRocks or anyone else - would you recommend moving her to the display tank after the second dose of GC is done even if she isn’t eating medicated food yet? I worry she’s getting skinny and the DT has pods and microfauna for her to eat. On the other hand, I don’t want to introduce internal parasites to the DT.
