Salinity Probes that work with the Apex

A bit late, but no, they are not compatable. At least the Ali-Express one I got had an end that was far too wide to fit in the VCA stability kit. Well, at least the one that I got earlier in the year. The photo above shows a different end than the one I have, so not sure about the more recent offerings.
I've been ordering them from the same company in Ali-Express now for over a year, and they have always had the correct connection for apex. Haven't had one yet that didn't work. All other companies on Ali your mileage may vary.

To clarify - I was saying that mine is NOT compatible with the VCA salinity stability 3d printed part.

It was just fine with the Apex itself, but wasn't stable, salinity-wise, for me.

Though the one I bought looks like this, which is different to @flyweed 's image - his may well work with the VCA stability adapter.

Great thread this. I'm using the conductivity probe to measure a freshwater tank. Conductivity is 100-250 uS. In that case a K=1 probe would be much better. The nicest thing is that there are graphit probes available which would in theory be much better than platinum like the original ones. Did anyone ever test if a K=1 (or even K0.1) works with the apex, or shall I be the guinea pig?

You can do whatever you want - I would just use the probe with the apex - however, In your case I'm not sure why you would want to measure conductivity in a freshwater tank?

Funny that you say that, because I think conductivity in freshwater is much more useful than in my saltwater tanks. As long as saltwater is keeped topped off, salinity will remain the same.
Conductivity in freshwater is very important, most soft water fishes stop breeding when conductivity is too high. It can be use for measuring polution or in my case the sand is very slowly leaching calcium into the tank and I can use conductivity to know when the water needs to be changed.
Since I want to know in the 10 - 300 uS range and the standard probe k=10 probe is not very precise in that range, I was hoping a k=1 probe (or even k=0.1, but I think that measures just too low in my case) would also work to give me more precision. If apex had one I would be more than happy to buy that, but since they only have the k=10 probe I was thinking of making one. Preferable a graphite probe.
 
Quick update, I did buy a graphite K=1 probe. Installed the mini din4 connector. It's impossible to calibrate in the low setting, but at medium I had no problem. This is most likely because of the K=1 which makes it out of range in the low setting. But in medium it works absolutely great. Where with the original probe my conductivity was going from 150 to 250 uS whenever the heaters jumped on, with the graphite probe it stays within 1 point, absolutely no changed when pump goes on or when the wire is close to the wire of a pump. I think someone should really try the K=10 graphite probe to see if this is the same. Would be a game changer I think!

Don't bother it worked for a couple weeks. Then kept drifiting down to zero. Now will calibrate work for 10 mins then drop down to under 10, occasionally jump up then drop down to zero again.

mine from Alvin Instruments has worked since I got it about 8 months ago. no issues.
