THIS! I put it in 5 gallon buckets with a power head.I would mix your salt very strong (using RODI water) in a container and add a bit at a time to you get what you want.
About 4 cups I just added a 1/4th cup so we’ll seeDo you know how much salt you have already put in? If so, I can tell you how to calculate exactly how much more you need to add.
That is a hard question to answer, for me at least. I pre mix everything, so it is very straight forward at 1/2 cup per gallon of R/O water.
No it’s good thank youHello there.
So are you asking how to 31 or 1.023 during the mixing process or you are trying to adjust your water now at 26 to 31 ?
if you're mixing, there should be instructions ..
for me, i use redsea blue bucket and its 2.5 cups of salt into 5 gal of RO to get 1.026.
if you're not sure, add small amount of salt into RO, wait 15min ish and check.. repeat until you see the # that you want.
lastly, if you're asking on how to adjust your water from now a 26 to 31.
do small water changes of 31, maybe like 5% since its only a 10 gal. repeat water changes until you get whole system to 31. probably 3 time (?)
doing small increments will not shock the fish vs completely drain what you have and replace with 31 parts salt water.
hope im not making it more confusion. Good luck !
Me either! I use a calibrated hydrometer! Is that tester even accurate? I don't trust those swing arm plastic testers
That's all I used in the 90's LolIs that tester even accurate? I don't trust those swing arm plastic testers
I’m starting my first fowlr tank also my first ever saltwater and plan on keeping clownfish I have a 10g tank and am trying to get to 1.023 ish salinity how much should I add here where it’s at rn thank you
Ok thanksIMO, that target is low, and new salt water made to the low level will be low in calcium and magnesium and most other ions.
Aim for 35 ppt (sg = 1.0264), the whole ocean average. :)
