Sand washing help

I rinsed mine just as Marc did. Strong nozzle and a 5 gal bucket. Few rinses at best as it was clean as day one. Afterwards I let it dry out on its own. each day I would mix it to allow it to dry quicker. If you are concerned about rinsing it and their being contaminants then rinse as described above then a quick rinse in rodi and done.
 
Rinse it with regular tap water, A little at a time in a 5 gallon bucket till the water runs clear, then transfer to a larger bucket. Once its all clean you can rinse it with RODI water if you feel its necessary. Other wise you can put it right into the tank and go for it.

In all the years I have had tanks I have never done anything other than this with Sand or Gravel and never had an issue of any type and I have used some shady looking sand over they years

Save the bleach for you Rocks, just make sure you have some dechlorinator when you do rocks.
