Is there a way to save a thread as a draft? I feel like this is useful for article creators or really just any thread that may not be writable in one sitting. I have a thread I want to write and I feel like it can't be done all at once. If there is no way to do this then I'll just write in in google docs or something, but I feel like it would be helpful.

That's unfortunate :( I want to write an article about some cool unique inverts I stumbled across while researching sea hares and I think that the ability to work on a thread and come back to it later would be useful

I have always found it best to create an article in the word processing software of your choice. Leave place holders for pictures and you can save as you are creating.

Once ready, copy and paste to the text block here, fix any formatting concerns, and insert your pictures.

That's what I've opted to do, no big deal copy pasting is easy. Writing is the hard part

You can save as you work, but do not close the browser window. Use the SAVE icon. Work in it using the editor under the More Options button.

so i’ve been working on a big rodi article for the past couple years (yes!), and because i want to use custom bbcode it would be easier to be able to save a draft. i even tried to pm myself and it wouldn’t work. humph.

I gave up on the article that I wanted to write just because there was less to write about on that subject than I originally thought, but I still think that if R2R wants to be the main hub for reefing online and wants to be a host for quality articles then features such as saving as a draft to make article writing more efficient should be built in IMO. Also I think that the article submission process should be more clear as I still don't really know how to submit one. To my understanding you pm @mdbannister about it? Maybe a feature that lets you submit a thread directly for review would make things more efficient and simple.

click “create article” it will then ask you to select the category you want to assign. once it’s submitted it will go to the article person for review and approval.
