Scoly Splitting Mystery

Hey guys! Picked up a scolymia today from the LFS. And it looks to be splitting. And the owner of the LFS (great guy, knowledgeable to say the least) also described it this way.
I had never heard of a scoly splitting before, and thought that, apart from us taking the saw to them, they only reproduced sexually. So I figured I'd ask if anyone else had any experience with them splitting like this or if I am missing something! Thanks in advance!!

He's not splitting, just deforming some.
My scoly did that on one side only.
Be cool if it was splitting.

Okay cool I wasn't sure. It looks like there are 2 distinct mouths, but they're not supposed to split lol.
