Very nice build. Everything is nice and neat. What did you paint the back of the tank with? Did you experience any scratches while installing the plumbing?

Thank you. 2 coats of Rust-O-Liem protective enamel oil based in gloss. I rolled it on with a small roller. I did not have any scratches after the plumbing was done. I had the tank pulled out from the wall several feet while I installed the plumbing. This allowed me plenty of room to work with.

Finished filling the tank with RODI. I added salt this morning until it reached 1.026 specific gravity. Dr. Tim's one and only has been added along with ammonium chloride. Going with the fishless cycle. I hope to be adding the first fish in about a week. I've been eyeing a par of black ice snowflake at my LFS.

Tested ammonia and nitrite after 24 hrs. Ammonia was at .5 and nitrite was at 0. I added another 12 ml of ammonia and will check again in 24 hrs. One and Only seems to be working as advertised.

Tank fully cycled after 8 days with Dr. Tim's. Going on vacation next week so I'll be waiting until we get back to introduce a couple of fish. I got my ATO and Apex hooked up today. The tangled cord mess was piling up so I also started working on my cord management. ATO is a Tunze Osmolator 3155. I've got it set up with a five gallon bucket temporarily. I'll be purchasing a Synergy 10 gallon ATO container to match my sump down the road.

Synergy ATO will be going here in the future.

I purchase the Apex classic used a few months ago. It came with the PH probe that had the boot with water in it. I didn't want to risk it so I purchase a new lab grade PH probe. I don't have a Ethernet connection available so I'll be purchasing a Netgear wireless adapter. I should have done some more research before hooking it up. I did manage to get my probes calibrated today.

The wire management board was built from two shelfs and some aluminum angle bought at HD.

Nothing new on the tank this week. Took a little R&R at the beach this week with the family and friends. I ordered up a few items while I was gone. I decided to go with 2 Gyre XF250's for this build. I picked up one with the controller for now and will be adding a second one later. I also picked up a few plumbing parts so I can start on my salt water mixing station. I was hoping to get the Gyre and the first fish additions added today but things didn't go my way. After church I had to get the yard mowed and 2 cars washed. Right as I was finishing the wife informed me that the washer wasn't working. Several hours later the old washer and dryer are out and replaced by a new pair. Oh well gotta keep the wife happy.

Week 8 update. Installed the Maxspect Gyre XF250 this week. The flow on this thing is amazing. Currently running it on pulse mode 1.5 seconds at 70%. First fish were also added and doing great, 2 Fire Fish and 2 Banggia Cardinals.
