Super nice i plan to switch to the photon v2 next year over my 300
Here are some of your pieces:
WWC Yellow Tips- lookin ugly as hell until it took off!
ABC Star is Born
TGC Orange Creamsicle - slow but taking off now
LOA Tyree Richards Rainbow Stag, lookin real good in real life!!!
From someone else, TGC Mercury Rising finally coloring up
The TCG creamsicle is a classic yours is awesome!
It’s similar to my rainbow loom lots of encrusting. It’s one of those corals you sit around praying for growth and every millimeters is exciting haha .It’s such a slow grower. Maybe the LEDs as it came from a MH tank
For sure I wasn’t saying that to imply anything by any means. I run t5’s and LEDs, and full LED on my other tanks. I just really like halides and always have my best tanks were lit by them. It’s just plug and play I’m comfortable with that. I get more much better growth with t5/led combo it’s prolific in comparison, but coral color with my radiums/vho combo is much better to me personally.Photons are proven. I would have needed 8 for my tank. Reason I went with Orpheks. Still took 4 orphek light bars and 3 full size units to light up the tank
Mine was a general comment. I fully agree on halides- the most overlooked secret. I have a 4 bulb unit with fout T-12s at over $2k invested at a giveaway price and no takers. They have no clue how this 72” unit grows coral mainly SPS like WeedsFor sure I wasn’t saying that to imply anything by any means. I run t5’s and LEDs, and full LED on my other tanks. No worries I just wanted to make sure. We invest a lot of money it our equipment, and the last things I would ever do is to degrade or devalue someone else’s gear.Mine was a general comment. Right on it’s the truth! I regret selling my giesemann spectra I should’ve held on to it bc It wasn’t even worth the trouble of the transaction lol.
Awesome corals my man.
I run some reds in the am, but it’s not super heavy. I just make sure my core 8 hours is consistent with the ratio, but I’ve shifted away from a true AB+ program, I run more reds and whites, at 1/3 of what my blues are and I’ve noticed colors are definitely better with more whites. I personally feel reds helps but that’s anecdotal. What’s your all’s opinion of spectrums shifting throughout the day. Seadweller yours stays the same, even arc and you have great growth. My sunset is little more red heavy compared to my sunrise which is pure blue. Do you think not having the same spectrum all day can negatively impact growth and coloration?
Surprisingly yes, there are only a few that were mini colonies (aka generously sized frags), and looking back on some pics, they were small. RC poison envy, FF Red Robin, ORA Laura’s purple polyp, RR Aussie gold, all which have at least doubled in size.Awesome corals my man.
You grew colonies from frags in 7 months?
Last resort: black iron bars, I couldn’t find the ceiling joists too well so I didn’t want to chance hanging them.what'd you mount the lights with?
