For the top did you cut that from a 4x8 piece of ply? What's the thickness again.

I finally got it done! All that's left is to shop vac the sand out the old tank and go start "cooking" all the leftover rock in my garage at work tomorrow to get it all cleaned up for something else maybe?

Man tank looks great picked mine up yesterday. Have some silicon to clean up on it. I'm still a few weeks out from filling up. I have gaps in the corners of the trim and tank. Can you please explain how exactly you corrected this.

So I shimmed the bottom an it's all touching but I asked my job the price for a 1/2 inch piece of glass would cost me I'm thinking of using it over the plywood

For a glass top between wood and tank? I can't say I've seen it done or heard it done, but that'd be a cool idea. Now, would you have to place some type of foam between the wood top and glass plate to contour to any imperfections in the wood? I guess planing in would be an option too.

I believe I would have to put some type of leveling mat like the ones they have for rimless tanks and then the tank would sit directly on the glass that way it's 100% true and flat. Can you tell me where you bought your magnets and what kind/pull force also how you placed them. My idea is to put them on all 3 panels to make every side of the sump accessible

About the magnets, I'm yet to finalize those. Lol. Been a heck of a weekend and week so far. I snagged some 50# force, but, uh, yeah, that's waaaaaay overkill. So DONT do that. I didn't even install them, thinking 5 separate 8-10# pull should set nicely though. Plan to do 3 across the top (corner, center, corner) and 2 on the bottom corners. I've actually been toying around with the idea of simple Velcro, but I'm not 100% yet. Wife and I tossing ideas around. Not going to acrylic behind the bubbles either so I have some good breathing space under the tank. So that works aesthetically and has a purpose now.

If I end up going the magnet route, I'd countersink them into the stand leg and cover with silicone. Could possibly do some neo magnets just to cut down on visibility if wanted. Strong pull, small magnet.
