I added a new 20amp circuit and GFCI outlet to the wall behind my new build, and there was already a 15amp outlet there on a shared circuit with another room, but not GFCI. I figured I'd just leave that one alone and use it for lights and equipment that doesn't come in contact with water, then I'd use everything else on the new circuit with GFCI - does that logic make sense?

Personally I would put a GFCI outlet in the other one as well, as now might be your only chance to get at it for a while...
