What about putting a huge skylinght to reduce the kilowatts? If your building it? and just add some metal halides or leds for evening.
My HOA is very restrictive. I could never ever put a big skylight due to cosmetic regulations. I am going to have to put in the flat panel sola tubes and hide them with the tile roof. I am not going to rely on them at all for PUR. Wait till I post the electrical plan. You could run most homes on what I will have dedicated to one room.
A live in tank caretaker? You'd have daily glass wipe downs and feedings, daily equipment inspections, weekly pump cleaning and filter sock cleaning. And finally weekly detritus removal and fish room clean up. The non glamorous side of the hobby.Need a roomy.
