Setting up float switches on a Apex ?????

Im trying to make better use of my apex..I would like to use it as a ATO setting up float switches..actually would like to set up 2 ATO..one for my Kalk to run threw (mainly at night) and one for fresh water during the day..

I have no clue what i will need to acomplish this..
Would i need a expansion device for the apex??
SHould i run switches for Kalk and ATO based off PH or on timers?

any help would be great

You need to buy a breakout box which will plug in your I/O port. Then you can buy a cheap float switch with the pigtail wires on it and those plug into the breakout box. Then you use conditional statements with virtual outlets to have it turn on a pump. As an extra failsafe, you can use an oscillating command (OSC XXX/XXX/XXX Then On) to allow your pump to only run for a certain duration to prevent salinity drops in the case of a stuck float switch. If you're not sure how to do any of this, google "unofficial Apex new user guide" and theres a huge .pdf file that explains how to program pretty much anything.
