SExy Customer got the BRown JELLY! HELP!

Hey guys one of my good customer got the brown jelly. He says it covers the scolie/acan then eats it up within a day or two.. his tank is up for 4-5 months and hes running biopellets and dosing 2 part.

IF you have any advice please let me know so i can relay the message to him. I have never seen this or had anyone i know got this so any advice to cure this would be great!! he got very high end stuff so i hope he dont lose everything.. :sad::sad::sad:

Its a PITA...I got it,and I had to do iodione dips,and I increased the flow and blew it off...fragged away all the tissue with the Brown Jelly on it,and it went away after awhile.

Iodine dips are what I've read to be most popular. Never had it myself though. Best of luck.

oh god, Mike.I whent thru this. I took each peiceout and did a mild dip and cut the lights period in half. I lost a load of high end acans and two blasto colonies. Make sure he doesnt blow the jelly off in the tank, it will spread to other corals like the plauge

Ive beat this on SOOO many corals.

This is what you do,or what ive done.

Frag healthy parts of the coral off,if possible, then dip ALL frags and parts of the coral in iodine,while in the dip take a turkey baster and get as much brown jelly off the corals as possible,then put the coral in a low light high flow area,high flow usually keeps brown jelly from settling back on the coral,I use the smallest kind of powerhead I have. This usually beats brown jelly.

Glad to hear its curable... I'll forward him all these advice ASAP!! Hes got access to hospital drugs.. Anything better than iodine?

Lets not do anything illigal here!

Im sure there are things out there that are better, but I would worry about how strong some of the drugs are, Id stick with the basic "safer" ways of doing it than going and getting hospital drugs...lol

Shhh...no one knows about that "bad stuff" yet...and I dont need that secret to get out...but yes,I need more sexy fish tapes...Im running low and my fish arent happy :xd:

A doctor writing a prescription for personal use or just taking something he has in stock for himself is still very legal. Let alone he could lose his license Its kinda funny that was actually a question in one of my medical ethics class.

does the brown jelly look something like this? I need help identifying what this is. Any help would be great. It looks like the favia has either busted or been nipped at and is not spewing brown.

Honestly that looks like its been stung or fell over on or near an aggresive coral i.e. chalice, echinata, etc. I use TM pro-cure *iodine* and do a 20-30 min dip. Color should be a yellow pee color, not dark brown. For some reason the TM *tropic marin* one does better than the store bought ones. I would do another dip 2 days after to make sure the infected is completely healed. Also monitor it the next 48 hrs, if its going to receed it will start with 24 hrs. or stop.
