Rest of them are looking really good!

Nutrients could definitely be at play. Low N P isn't necessarily the whole story though, are they able to get enough particulates with N P or are you running heavy filter socks/roller mat etc? Iodine can also impact LPS, you feed nori regularly? or dose trace, waterchanges etc?

Hey man, thanks for the reply

Here are a few more details about my system.
I run a filter roller and perform a 15% water change every 10 days. My water parameters have been very stable with little to no fluctuation. One thing that really puzzles me is my nutrient levels. There was a period when I doubled the amount of food I fed my fish every day, yet my nitrate and phosphate barely increased at all.
As for iodine, I’m dosing Coral Essentials KI3. According to the manufacturer, it’s a concentrated blend of potassium iodide and iodine (0.5%). I dose about 2 drops per day for my 118-gallon system.

I also feed nori once a day. For the other trace elements, I dose them together with my alkalinity and calcium according to Coral Essentials’ recommended ratios.

I’ve never had an ICP test done, so I don’t really know if I’m deficient or overdosing any trace elements. That said, all of my SPS corals look healthy and are growing well. The Holy OG Torch is the only coral I’m having trouble with.
This is the iodine im using

Ya, sounds like you probably getting enough iodine.
Other thing to look at would be PAR and light intensity. I have found that if your SPS are thriving your LPS are going to probably need a little shading to not get cooked.

Hi all,

A little update on my lagoon tank!

The corals are growing well overall. Right now, the tank only has five fish, so nutrient levels (NO₃ and PO₄) are extremely low. That has caused a few issues here and there, but everything is still under control, and overall the corals continue to grow nicely.

btw, the Tourch didnt make it and gone 🙏🏻

But Today’s problem is something different.

I’ve been thinking about covering the outside of the aluminum frame with composite panels instead of leaving the frame exposed like it is now. But at the same time, I actually think the exposed frame has its own industrial, clean look, especially if all the equipment and control panels are neatly organized.

So I used AI to visualize my ideas and came up with three different options.

Op1: frame only, current actual setup 😀

Op2: covered using black panels

Op3: Light-colored version

I’d love to hear which one you prefer and why.

Cheers
