Should my pipe be this crooked

The pipe in your overflow isn't the original marineland mega overflow so the elbow part of the durso is a little wider. It is fine being at a slight angle.

I have the return point towards the corner of the tank. I also plumbed in my own return line and left the second for the emergency drain.
