I think they have hit the sweet spot wit the XL models. Now for an realistic external ATO sump.

I think im gonna get a BRS mini reactor and run .8 rox carbon and high capacity gfo to help with the algea and build up im experiencing. Also might pick up a jebao rw4 to go across from my mp10

For your Algae issue search using hydrogen peroxide dosing. It works and is harmless. Just my .02

I love the color of your wall and how your setup looks. Being that there's no lid, does anything (dust, hair, etc) ever get in the water?

No at this installation location, but I have a client that has a lot of dust and pet hair issues. A glass top would affect O2 exchange and affect part and cast a big light reflection on the ceiling.

Right to the tank? Ive used the process on rocks taken out of the water before and toothbrushed it but never just dumped into the water, wouldnt that kill the bacteria in the system as well as harm my anemones?

I really wish they would make a 6 or 7 footer. The extra 2.6" of width does nothing for me. Grant it, if I was buying a new one, I would definitely buy the 525 over the 450 I have.

You can remove the return nozzle tip it is only press in and replace it with a Loc line Y connection and tips. Heavy return flow will blow sand every where. Just saying.

So with the new 525 announced its making me rethink getting the 450. Thing is I can get a 450 for about $1850 delivered during this holiday sale or wait for the 525 which will be at regular price. Regular price on the 525 will probably be about $3-$400 more than the 450 regular price? If thats the case it doesn't seem worth an extra $7-$800 more for only 3" of depth.

Anyone disagree with this thinking?

Ya buggin get the reefer, i looked at the cadlights before elos , yea there sump is more managable but you cant beat it how gorgous the reefers setup is
