These are my favorite tang pictures. One I took from a friend's tank (Naso), and the rest are from my old 120g. I only have a 60g now, so just one yellow tang currently. I want a larger tank again so I can get more tangs. Enjoy!

I know you didn't ask me, but I've had Yellow and Purple together in two of my tanks. I added both at the same time and never had any problems. YMMV

Hey @shaggydoo did you have issues with the purple and the yellow tangs?
No issues at all. They constantly flared their fins at each other like in the first picture but never fought. Added them at the same time and kept nori in the tank all the time. I think that made the difference as they only showed off to each other with no actual aggression.
 
I also always have Purple and Yellow together from 90 gal to 420 gal and never have problem. Never keep keep them in tanks less than 90 so I don't have experience in small size tanks regarding comparability of these two species in small tanks.
