Bit underwhelming at the moment. Most of the mangrove doohickeys (i forget what they call them; not seedlings .... nodules, or something like that) are starting to sprout. Lots of fan worms, so that's a good sign. Some cyano, but that will pass.

They are very slow growers, and many of the seedlings don't survive. I am using a pair of the Kessil Tuna Sun A80s.

Ordered the tank. Acrylic with integrated external overflow. 63” x 20” x 24”. Approx. 110 gallons. Have to buy another MP40 ... have an older design in the closet but its from 2012. I have enough spare lights and plenty of sand and rocks. 10-12 weeks so I have time to build the light hood and wood trim to match the 450.
Another acrylic tank, you must be really liking the acrylics. You must have mastered the cleaning process to avoid scratching, right? I like the built in external overflow. Sounds really nice.

Yeah, well, maybe not mastered but not a complete hack. I have decided, for me, the advantages of acrylic outweigh the cons.

My teenage son has decided that he can make $$ by breeding clownfish. Both our pairs lay eggs regularly, but I have attempted to explain to him that raising the fry is the big challenge. He remains undeterred. I have told him to put together a business plan with PowerPoint slides and animation LOL. What to do if he makes a good argument?

Let him do it! My parents always discouraged everything I wanted to do, even if he fails, he can’t say he didn’t try. And even if it doesn’t bring a “huge “ profit, a extra couple dollars here and there never hurts.

Very good point. Plus, I’m kind of intrigued by it also. Never have been very good at saying no to them. That’s why we ended up with three frog enclosures. Rather that than other stuff teenagers can get themselves mixed up in.

Exactly, much worse things that can consume there lives! Just be grateful they share the same interests you do!

Kid made a good and persuasive case LOL. What was that line from Jerry Maguire .... you had me at hello ..... For somebody that’s a card carrying skeptic and breaks out in hives at even the hint of a conspiracy theory, I’m just a big ol sucker when it comes to my sons. Baby clowns here we come ... hopefully works out better than the baby Bangai did (zero, nada, zip ...).
