Simple IKEA frame to hide my aquarium stuff

I wanted a cabinet to hide my ATO reservoir, power strip, wires, and miscellaneous items. However I could not find any cabinets that fit the dimensions I needed. The IKEA Enhet steel frame ended up being a perfect fit! Very easy to put together as with most IKEA products and it is made of durable galvanized steel. To cover the front I purchased a precut black acrylic sheet from Amazon as well as 6 rare earth round magnets with adhesive backing. The acrylic sheet is a bit flimsy but it was the only material I could find. The same company makes a black aluminum composite sheet as well but the size I wanted wasn’t in stock. I’ll probably upgrade to the aluminum sheet once it comes back in stock. I’m pretty satisfied with how everything turned out!

Looks good! Im adding a 8g AIO in the bed room on the dresser/bedside table and been trying to decide how to hide my ato as my dresser drawers are a touch small for my liking. Might consider doing something like this

However I should point out somethings I'm aware of

You should coat that galvanized to protectt it from any saltwater/electrolytes or it will corrode.

Especially if you clad/cover it with aluminum. Galvanic corrosion will kick in and the aluminum will disintergrate.

I just checked the weight rating - 26 pounds per shelf. Not enough for the 8 gallons.

I’m glad you checked! I did not install the bottom shelf so my ATO reservoir is just sitting on the ground.
