I found this on my rocks...it has a hard shell on the outside. It is a slug of some sort I think. When I tried to pull it off of the rock it had a hard grip. Harder than any snail I ever had. It ripped in half as I got it off. You can see half of it in the container. You can see the tentacles in a couple of the pics as well. The other half without the harder shell / head still moves when disturbed.

it's a stomatella snail, algae eater, they are good to have, and they drop the foot as a danger response to distract while they run away. i would put him back, they will reproduce in the tank and you'll end up with tons of them

I had one "drop" its foot on me and I had no idea what was going on. I guess their technique works on dumb animals of all sizes. Thanks for the insight Twon.
