I first started in the mid nineties and had my tank up for 16 years. I had a few ( one at a time) and loved them. After a 10 year break it was on my must have list and I couldn’t believe how people were trashing them. I’m on my second this go around and they are always active and picking at the rocks. I can say, coming up on 20 years of reefing I’ve never seen a flat worm in my tank. I can’t imagine I haven’t had any hitchhike in but I’m sure the sixline made quick work of them.

I had one , it was the devil himself. They look nice though
Just curious what size tank and what mates? I find many people put them in smaller tanks with small peaceful fish which often doesn't work out. They are small and cute but they have a big fish attitude. I have one as the only fish in my 20g for pest control.

All my fish are bigger than my Sixline, even the clowns. As such he just floats around, chill as can be.

First experience with one last month, neat interesting fish. Went thought QT with a Scooter Blenny, got Blenny eating pellets, which I considered a win. Got both to help with various pests in tank. After 1 week six line went berserk and killed the Blenny in DT, 🤯! Probably six line should be considered aggressive, which it is I guess.

Sorry to hear that. Scooter blennies are a cool little fish.
Sixlines are not a community fish by any means. Larger tank mates or so much rock they don't stop hunting long enough to show aggression has been key for me. I have one in my 330 and only see it once every couple of weeks unless I take a flashlight and look for it. I'm not seeing anymore flatworms on my shrooms or leathers so it not can hide all it wants.

I don't even see bristleworms anymore. Not that they bothered me any but I could used to find one or two when looking.

I was worried more for the Royal Grammy with the Six and expected the Blenny to be just left alone. The Royal holds his ground and keeps the Six away. I was surprised, considering six and Blenny spent 13 days together in a 4 gal tank. Yes, he is already doing a job on flatworms.

It will be interesting to see how it works out with the six and grammy now that the blenny is out of the picture. Hopefully smooth sailing.

I had mine with two clowns in an 32 gallon and they were the three amigos! They were always together. BFFs! I switched to a larger tank and added more fish. Still no aggression, but he now is the lone wolf. After two years he is still one of my favorite fish, but I do miss the three amigos…

I loved mine, but it was evil.
In a 3’x2’x2’ tank, with loads of blind spots. It knocked the eyes out of my Flame Dragonet, Copperband and then attempted to grab a Watchman Goby I had.

Since then, I’ve always stuck to the Pink Streak Wrasses as they remain more peaceful and do just as good of a job!

I’ve always been hesitant towards getting one. On one hand they are beautiful fish to have in a tank. On the other hand they can be aggressive and mean.
