Sixline Wrasse and his bedtime.

My six Line wrasse seems to et very very upset when I turn on my room light when he is sleeping. The tank lights go off, and he finds a cave and goes to sleep. But then when I'm in my room and the light comes on he wakes up, greyer, and swimming erratically. He hits the walls and rocks. He surfs the glass l, and sometimes jumps.

It's my room light, tank light is off at 5:30pm.

They can injur themselves like that. Probably better to leave a low wattage lamp on in the evening before lights out and only turn it off when you no longer will use the lights in that room.

makes sense. but sometimes I've monitored his behavior tk see if he adjusts, he doesn't, he just lays in a corner almost unconsciously after awhile.

Thank you, I have a copepod culture with a light on it across the room maybeill leave it on in the later hours. It's very dim to the other tank.

Probably from stress after the chaotic event that took place.

I will also add none of the other fish (mandarin, clowns, or goby) react this way

Wrasse are a bit different in that they have a strong internal clock. He may be blinded by the light, but also he's prolly super confused. Use that copepod tank light, he should be fine.

it comes on and ramps up at 7:30. Turns off after tamping down at 5:30.
