Hi everybody. I Always turn off my skimmer at night ( 23: 00-4 : 00 ) but I have a doubt. Do I have to turn off also my biopellets reactor or is not necesary?

I would not turn off a biopellet reactor because the water inside it may become stagnant (anaerobic).

Except for your maintenance and maybe your feeding, I wouldn't turn either one off, especially when using both together.

Thanks Randy and iTwired, but the absence of oxygen no longer given by the skimmer as is turned off, does not affect the aquarium by the low oxygen that deliver the reactor biopellets from 23:00 to 04:00 am ?

Why are you turning your skimmer off? Like Randy said above don't turn off the flow to the pellets, it'll turn it anaerobic and you'll possibly have a bacterial bloom.

Everything stated is true. If for some reason you want to turn off your skimmer to avoid avoid taking out nutrients at night it would make more sense to look into getting a recirculating bio pellet reactor. I did for the same reason, I want to be able to control my nutrients by the output of whats coming out of my bio pellet reactor. Though I want my skimmer running all the time.
