Skimmer noisy

I've got a coralife 220 skimmer. The pump makes a noisy humming sound. Is this normal?

If it's new, it will probably just take a couple weeks for the pump to "break in." If you've had it for a while, you may want to consider disassembling the pump to see if you can find the source of the problem.
