What is the main differance between these 2 skimmers besides the pump ? the seaside aquatics cs1, and es7 . all i can tell is the cone is staight on the cs1, and the es7 has the venturi not in to the return pipe. I can not find any info or reviews for the es5 or es7. So what are your thoughts ?

its basically the new version.

mojo,
Well, It is ordered, and being shipped out today... I went with the Seaside Aquatics CS1 w/ the psk600... I will just flip my sump, and put it in the Refuge side which is 11.5 wide, and now the fuge will be 11.75 x 7.5 ...

Great Deal, and got some money left for plumbing. But dang those gate valves are expensive, would ball valves work instead ?

Not really... Put a gate valve on there and thank mojo later... Ball valves don't adjust well a skimmer needs fine tuning... Hth

yea spend the extra money on gate valves. For sure.

Butts, I would go with the 2000. Both are good. But the 2000 still pulls 1200 lph of air and will work well consistently. the 2000 xp

Can anyone here help me with my ATB 1050a skimmer? My tank has been up and running for about 3 months now (185 gallon w/40 gallon sump) and this skimmer has been spitting out microbubbles since day 1. The place I bought it told me to give it time to break in, and that since there was no bio-load, it was probably causing the bubbles. So I turned the skimmer off for about a month, got my tank stocked with a CUC and a few fish, turned the skimmer back on and still had the same problem. I contacted ATB for help and they told me I have something in my water causing the skimmer to make microbubbles. I was told to run carbon in my reactor for a few weeks, along with weekly water changes, and the problem would go away. I've done everything they told me for over 2 months now and nothing has changed. Can anyone help me solve this problem? Or at least point me in the right direction to find the answers I need? I am so frustrated that I want to take the skimmer out and smash it to pieces!

The skimmer is in 8 inches of water, but I've adjusted it higher and lower, and nothing helped

Skimmer suggestions

Hello, I have an Elos Midi(36 G with 15 G sump) and it came with the PS-100 Skimmer. What have your experiences been with this skimmer? I have been battling some cyano, and looking for a culprit. I have been contemplating replacing the skimmer. I have a small area for the skimmer and the skimmer sitting on top of the pump would be helpful. Any suggestions or thoughts?

Thanks!!

Are you using this? The only reason I ask, is I am looking for a skimmer and your tank is similar size.

Thanks

Yes , I am using this exact skimmer I was talking about on my 40 breeder with a 20L sump....

The skimmer cup just cleaned out Sunday night. This bad boy is Awesome, and I have mojo to thank for reccomending the SeaSide Aquatics CS1.....also pretty quiet too. All I hear is the water draining into the sump skimmer chamber. Which is not bad, kinda like one of those tabletop water fall things for relaxing.
