gathering some equipment for our new tank (3ftx2ftx2ft) from glass cages. Ive always had radions on other tanks but now that the sky came out I dont know what to go with. Do I do one sky, two sky's, two gen6 xr30 pros or one gen6 xr30 pro. Tank will be mostly SPS dominate

IMO, you want multiple lights for SPS dominant on that size tank to help avoid shadowing
Im leaning more on the two sky's than the radions gen6 pros. I still have my old gen4s I could also use

watch some reviews on them, like from BRS, there are likely differences in things like shimmer too

reefi uno 2.0

only reason to consider radions/sky is if you want to integrate into your controller. Reefi is superior in every other metric

If you're running LEDs, stay with the Radions. Gen 6 is a nice improvement over Gen 5 in a couple of ways. However, if you have enough Gen 4s, those are probably the best Radions ever produced.

You'll just need coverage for SPS.

Oh and Neptune Sky's? That's a HARD PASS.

Those Gen 4's are about as good as it gets..gen 5, 6 is horrible , IMO.. stick with the 4's and supplement if you need more of anything.

With just those two options…Radions all the way. No direct experience but one of my LFS had Radions and switched to the sky’s and everything is dimmer and less colorful to my eyes

Probably will stick with my gen 4s since i already have them. From all the reading I've done seems like the gen 4s are better than the 6 anyways

never heard of them

As @Poochaku noted it wouldn't hurt to look at the reefi 2.0's. You have the time so it is a wise investment regardless of what light you end up with.

With regards to lighting most people will just give you information on what they are familiar with or use. It is sort of a personal bias just as it is with dosing, pumps, and other things in this hobby. Lights are just one part of the equation.

May not be a bad idea to look at the used market either. People upgrade to the latest and greatest so never know what may show up. There is also a high turnover in this hobby with some not making it past their first year.
