Slower growing leathers?

I'm dying to have one, but am limited by tank size. I only have a 3 gallon, and don't plan on upsizing for a while. I know I won't be able to keep it there forever, but what might be some options?

You could get a green nepthea and just frag it. It won't drop babies and it's easier to frag then a toadstool.

I do have some toadstools that seem to grow painfully slow while others grow very fast.. I am not sure how to ID which is which though. A lot of venders just slap names on them.
