I wonder if the 470 will give more of that pop that we like?Looks like a newer version and they added 470nm
It's definitely noticeable on the Smatfarm G6 when I crank the channel with 470nm up. I can tell the difference compared to my other nano light that is heavier in 450nm and UV. I'd probably supplement with an led bar to eliminate shading on my SPS though.I wonder if the 470 will give more of that pop that we like?
I am going to be using 4 units, 2 with 470 and two without. Will see if some pictures can come out decent enough to tell. Hope to have them installed in the canopy tomorrowI wonder if the 470 will give more of that pop that we like?
Hello, if you don't mind me asking is there any particular reason you don't use this light any more? They were about 27 inches from height of the light to the surface of sand bed. I no longer have this light.
I won’t speak for anyone else, but I still use this light. Smarten is great. I had some saltwater damage to one from spilling water in it and the fan stopped. I contacted Mataram and they sent me a new fan for free. They are really good like that.Hello, if you don't mind me asking is there any particular reason you don't use this light any more?
Thanks for the feedback. Is the upgraded one the 140w version?I won’t speak for anyone else, but I still use this light. Smarten is great. I ended up upgrading to their beeer version that has a moonlight and then dark period which I prefer. It’s fantastic. Corals grow quick and love this light. I can’t recommend it enough.
Thanks. I actually have two that I bought a couple years ago that I never have used that I'm thinking about setting up and I believe mine are the 90w versionNo, it was more in how the interface worked. I have two 95w over my 60g. This was a 5w jump from the previous 90w version. It actually burned my monti from that 5w increase but he is recovering now and I have it at full power after dialing it down for a month.
The 140w is probably great too but depends on what you need as far as height. My lights are only about 6” above the water so kinda tight. If they were higher, maybe I’d get the higher wattage.
I just didn't like the color, couldnt get it to pop. It was more purple instead of blue no matter the settings. I added a light bar supplement from ali express but still weren't satisfy. Other than that, they're fantastic lights.Hello, if you don't mind me asking is there any particular reason you don't use this light any more?

I've gone through all 30 pages of this thread, and haven't seen many PAR readings. I have two 95 Watt G5's mounted 9 inches above a glass lid on my 75 Gallon (48"x18"x21"). They are 10" above the water, and about 27" to the sand bed, but there is a glass hinged lid covering the aquarium in between the lights and water.Anyone get some personal good par readings on this light yet? With different settings?

The Daylight settings are A:50% B: 100% C:100% D:100% E:56% F:100%.
The Moonlight settings are A:0% B: 22% C:20% D:0% E:0% F:0%.
Schedule:
Sunrise - 9:30-10:00
Sunset - 15:30-16:00
Moontime - 16:00-03:00
Attached is a picture of the PAR Readings taken through the glass.
Is there anything I can do to the settings I'm currently running to get higher PAR readings at the higher rocks? I prefer having the glass top as I feel like it aides in less top off water, and my wife likes burning candles in the room I have the tank in so I don't want anything to leach into the water with an open top. I also like being able to fully open the glass top without having to mess with the height of the lights so I would prefer not lowering the lights too much. I've been debating just adding some more rock to pile higher.... I don't know. I'd like to be able to get at least 300 PAR at some point in the tank for corals....

I was using a DanoPlus Waterproof PAR meter to get those readings.... The hinged top has a dark plastic strip going through the center of the two glass panels and that blocks some of the light. The 80 PAR reading was along the back wall on the acrylic frag holder which was probably shaded by that strip in the center of the lid. The 80 reading in the back right corner was from a rock ledge in the back. That one was low in the tank, in the very back, it was just a weird place to put the text in the pic.I’m not sure why your Par would be lower up top compared to the bottom, unless maybe it’s more if the rear of the tank.
Did you try moving them lower at all?
I have an acrylic top and my lights are only 6” above that and my tank is smaller but I had enough light to burn my month when it went from the older 90w to the newer 95w.
I was growing acropora mintiporas LPS and softies.
How’d you get these par readings. They seem low to me.
I'm not using any of the pre-settings... I'm using a custom setting that I made up based on input I found online and results I found using the lights. The settings are included in the post above. This is from their marketing. I can’t vouch for these numbers but based on my experience the numbers should be higher than what you are getting.
What setting are you using?
I think the settings limit the output. Soft coral setting having lower setting than LPS or SPS.
I use the mixed setting.

That's a big tank for two sub-100W lights. I run three 200W-class lights over a 4' 100g. I'd add at least two more or drop something like the ReeFi Uno 2.1 in the middle of those Smats.I have two 95 Watt G5's mounted 9 inches above a glass lid on my 75 Gallon (48"x18"x21").
I lowered my lights to 4" off the glass (5" to the water line, about 22 inches to the sand bed) and now I'm getting around 300-350 at the Higher rock levels. I need to update my picture with the new PAR readings but I just spot checked some areas and lowering the lights seemed to do the trick. Just have to live with it being a little awkward to lift the glass I guess. Also, I’m not certain the difference between the settings but since the spectrum is equally adjustable in each setting it lends me to believe the difference between the settings must be output. So my theory is the SPS setting uses the highest wattage. Perhaps your PAR tests can check that theory for us?
